At Mercury Cazimi Education, we believe all human beings deserve to be known and valued as their true, authentic selves.

Our Vision
For nonspeaking people with autism to live in a world where they feel seen, heard, and understood; where they can share their gifts with others; where they are free to be fully themselves; where they have agency over the paths their lives will take.

Our Mission
To transform special education for nonspeaking students with autism through accepting individuals as they are, recognizing their unique gifts, and empowering them to share their voices with the world.

Our Goal
To open a microschool for nonspeaking, minimally speaking, and unreliably speaking students in Columbus, OH, in 2027. Our education model will embrace and support what makes us human, recognizing that to be known is to be free.

Why "Mercury Cazimi"?

1. Mercury is the planet of
communication.

2. A cazimi is when a planet aligns
almost perfectly with the sun,
and when Mercury is the planet,
it's called a Mercury cazimi.

3. A Mercury cazimi symbolizes
communication standing in the
heart of the sun, gaining an
audience with the sun, being
empowered by the sun.

4. Mercury Cazimi Education is
about empowering nonspeaking
students to share their unique
voices with the world and to
shine as their true, authentic
